The CDTA (Canadian Dance Teachers Association) Since 1949, the CDTA (Canadian Dance Teachers Association) , a truly Canadian organization of qualified Dance Teachers dedicated to advancing education in the field of dance, has offered workshops, exams, conventions and competitions to its members.
The CDTA (Canadian Dance Teachers Association), with over 650 members across Canada, is managed by a national board made up of two members from each of its 6 branches. Prospective members of the CDTA (Canadian Dance Teachers Association) are examined by a Board of Examiners, and they must exhibit correct teaching skills (by teaching a class). Each applicant must have a correct working knowledge of the syllabus in the discipline to which they have applied.
The CDTA (Canadain Dance Teachers Association) tap program offered at the Alison Lamont School of Dance trains students with absolute care. Although not mandatory, exams are offered to gain qualifications in the CDTA (Canadian Dance Teachers Association). The exams are demanding and require a lot of work. We find our students meet the challenge with enthusiasm. In general they love to achieve a tangible goal each year and attain the satisfaction of accomplishment.

Because Ballet is the foundation of all dance, it is advised that students continue with their Ballet classes to enhance their other dance disciplines
