*Split sole ballet shoes are no longer acceptable for R.A.D (Royal Academy Of Dance) Ballet Exams (Primary - Grade 8, inc.). In class they are still O.K.
BALLET
Tiny Tots, Dance Creations/Pre-School & Combination
Pre-Primary, Combination, Primary
Grade I and II
Grade III. IV, Intermediate Foundation
- navy sleeveless bodysuit
(R.A.D regulation style & color)
- pink slippers
- pink tights
Grade V, VI, VII, VII Intermediate
- black or navy blue leotard
- pink slippers
- pink tights
- hair off face and neck
- pointe shoes with ribbons
Note: For grade III ballet and up I will accept tight lycra dance shorts over your body suit (navy blue or black)
LYRICAL & JAZZ
- body suit
- tights
- black or blue lycra dance shorts if you want
- no baggy clothes *
- Jazz shoes, no laces (color not important for class, but you need beige for the year end) If you are a more advanced student, you should have both (so you have a choice for your costume)
TAP
Boys Tap
- pants and t-shirt
- tap shoes
Girls Tap (no t-shirts in class)
- leotard and tights (any colour)
- tap shoes - Beige (“BLOCH” – Jazz/ Tap shoe with laces or elastic)
- any pattern of bodysuit can be worn to class, but not to exams
Note: You may wear tight lycra shorts only (no long pants!!)
Black tap shoes are o.k. for class or exams but for end of year you will need Beige tap shoes
Hip Hop
- any baggy clothes (no jeans)
- running shoes that don't mark the floor / indoor only - no street shoes!
When you dress properly you are showing respect for your art and your teacher!
